Backlash
version 5
This is the
fifth version of Backlash, upgraded to compete in Season 4.0 of BattleBots.
I hardly took any photos
of Backlash during this rebuild, sorry!
Once again, Backlash was
nearly completely redesigned from his previous version.
The main differences on
this, the FIFTH revision of Backlash, were:
- New body shape, reducing
the size of the rear wedge and adding 4 inches to the overall width of the
robot
- New titanium weapon disc!
Yes, no more aluminum up there now. This thing is MEAN!
- New teeth
- Upgraded to 7075 aluminum
for armor
- New drive wheels, much
wider and providing much better grip
- New machined wheel hubs
with bearings
- New control system, moved
to 100% IFI controls- Issac 16 controller
and Victor speed controllers (Thanks to my new sponsor, IFI Robotics!)
- More weapon batteries
for increased runtime, faster spinup and higher top speed
