4QD-Series
Controllers for Electric Scooters, Robots, and Electric Cars
4QD-150D,
4QD-200D and 4QD-300D ranges of motor speed controllers for 24v,
36v and 48v motors. They are designed to give currents in the
range 100 to 300 amps making them probably the most powerful
controllers in their price range. Although small they are fully
electronic and need no external relays whatsoever. They have
many fail-safes built in for reliable long time use and misuse.
The
controllers are wide supply voltage range, 36v and 48v both working
also down to below 24v, so there is no separate 24v version,
the 36v version should be used.

4QD-150-24/36/48: 160 amps cold
4QD-200-24/36/48: 210 amps cold
4QD-300-24/36/48: 320 amps cold
The
4QD-150, 4QD-200 and 4QD-300 are full Four-Quadrant chopper drivers
suitable for speed control of battery operated motors up to 300A
and voltages between 24 and 60. They give full control of forward
and reverse acceleration and braking.
Input is suitable for a joystick (center zero) or for a single
ended speed pot plus separate reversing switch (mode is selected
on board by a moveable link). There is an on-board adjustment to
alter input sensitivity. Alternatively an external pot or switch
can be added to give a user top-speed control.
Also on board is an adjustable torque limit, which limits the continuous
motor current, to avoid overloading smaller motors.

PRO
120 -Series Controllers for Electric Scooters, Robots, and
Electric Cars
Pro
120 Mark 2 is built on the success of the Pro controller. The
circuits of these are so well proven and successful that no major
design was possible, but the board has been re-laid using sub-miniature
resistors to give room for more features.
The
Pro includes a reverse polarity protection relay. The connections
are all arranged at one end of the board for ease of access once
the controller is boxed. The Pro-120 is a full featured, Four
Quadrant (acceleration and regenerative braking, forward and
reverse) motor speed controller principally for 12v, 24v and
36v battery operation, but a 48v version is also available. Although
it is similar in size to other industry standard 110 amp controllers,
the power performance is considerably enhanced with no loss of
reliability.
Two
controllers can be coupled so two motors work as one, but with
independent current limiting, giving control of currents up to
240 amps.

4QD's
'VTX' series are full feature Four Quadrant (acceleration and
regenerative braking, forward and reverse) motor speed controllers
for 12v-48v battery operation. The range is economical enough
for toy cars and robots, yet powerful enough for use in golf
buggies so it provides a very cost-effective solution for virtually
every application which requires a reversing motor controller
in the current range up to 100 amps.
Some
possible applications are:- robots, scooters, golf buggies, miniature
railways, kiddiecars, floor cleaners, caravan shifters and vehicle
loaders. The VTX-40 is the baby of the range, covering currents
up to 50 amps. For more demanding applications the VTX-75 will
give currents up to 100 amps. For applications such as heavy
golf buggies which use two motors, two controllers can be coupled
so the two motors work as one, but with independent current limiting,
giving control of currents up to 200 amps. This feature is also
popular with miniature railways where two engines are 'double
headed'. All models are available in 12v, 24v, 36v, and 48v versions

VTX series are based on our tried and tested NCC series and are
technically advanced and packed with useful features without
the 'high tech overkill' which is often used as a sales gimmick.
The controllers have been extensively 'value engineered' to give
the best possible ratio of performance to cost. Of special interest
are the independent, linear, adjustable acceleration and deceleration
ramps, the 'dual ramp' automatic reversing, the thermally sensitive
overcurrent limiting, the regen current limit, pot fault detection,
ramp down at power off, reversing at zero demand speed and automatic
reverse speed reduction.

UNI-Series
Controllers for Electric Scooters, Robots, and Electric Cars
Uni
series are Universal - Unidirectional - Unique controllers of
unimpeachable reliability suitable for all the usual applications
as well as some unusual ones! This controller is non-reversible.
Two
current ratings are available, the Uni-8 with a current limit
of over 100 amps and the Uni-4 with current limit of over 50
amps.
As
standard, it includes regenerative braking. Versions are available
for 12v, 24v, and 36v.
It
is available as a plain board or
as a boxed, prewired unit.
The
Uni is technically advanced and packed with useful features without
the 'high tech overkill'. The controllers have been extensively
'value engineered' to give the best possible ratio of performance
to cost. Of special interest is the automatic ramp down and power
off so the controller always stops smoothly and safely even if
the ignition is turned off at full speed. Also if interest are
the independent, linear, adjustable acceleration and deceleration
