This
unit has two modes (selectable by on-board links): Independent (or
'tank style') and Differential (or 'Speed and Steer' mode). It can
also be used in other applications of course.
The
DCI -111 is meant to be operated by joystick or potentionmeter, this
is NOT an RC interface board.
• Input
(LHS on diagram) 2 off 3 way connector
for two standard 10K pots (not supplied).
• Mix control adjusts steering sensitivity. (Control does nothing in independent
mode)
• Speed adjustment: alters accel and decel rate on both channels (controller
2 only in independent mode)
• Steer adjustment. Controls maximum change rate on steering, both channels
(controls accel/decel rate on controller 1 in independent mode).
• Speed zero and steer zero. Allow electrical compensation for small mechanical
errors.
• Pin strip and pluggable links change mode from Independent to Speed an
Steer.
• 6 way connectors (2 off on RHS) for pin-to-pin connection with two NCC
controllers.
• 3 way connection for ignition switch and battery condition meter.
• Where a standard dual axis joystick is not used, inputs can be operated
from standard 10K potentiometers. The board will give about 4v output for about ±40° to
suit a standard servo.
• Simple wiring to two controllers
• The board can be manufactured with altered performance or tailored to
individual requirements.
• For the more technical browser, the circuit diagrams of some of these
interfaces are available in our circuits section, with full descriptions.
• An application note is available discussing the use
of DCI-111 with non-reversing controllers.
