This
is a very popular power switch for robots in many weight classes. It can
handle a continuous 75 amps easily, and has been battle-tested by many
robots.
The only
complaint about this particular switch is that if your robot is hit hard
enough from just the right angle, the switch can be clicked off from the
inertia. We recommend unscrewing the chrome knob, which acts as a counterweight
to push the switch off during battle. Some builders have also modified
this switch through a double-mounting face, so that they twist the knob
onto the threaded plunger to click it on, then there is no way to click
it off without twisting back the other way.In any
case, this is a great solution for a master power switch in combat robots!
