Great Hub!

I purchased the hubs to use with 2.5Ó and 3Ó Lite Flight Wheels. When the hubs and wheels arrived, I tried mounting the wheels to the hubs. First, I tried it the way the PDF instruction sheet indicated. I did not like that method of mounting. The hub has a flange with 5 holes. The face of the hub, that makes contact with the wheel, is recessed near the center. This indicated that the hub was designed to mount directly to the side of the Lite Flight Wheel (thus half of the plastic Lite Flight Wheel hub is not discarded).
I disassembled the Lite Flight Wheel and marked the half of the plastic hub that had the most contact with the foam rubber tire. I then reassembled the Lite Flight Wheel while thoroughly super gluing the plastic hub pieces to the wheel. I attached the aluminum hub to the wheel and made sure the flange was centered on the side of the hub that I marked. I then used a 1/16Ó drill bit and drilled pilot holes in the plastic hub using the holes in the aluminum hubÕs flange as a guide. I determined that #2, 1/4Ó long screws, designed to screw into plastic, were perfect for keeping the hub centered on the wheel and to make sure the hub did not spin against the wheel when subjected to high torque. I found the screws at www.microfasteners.com. They are LPP0204 #2 x 1/4Ó thread forming screws, triobular, for plastic. You get 100 screws for $2.60.
If you superglue the foam rubber tire to the plastic wheels and precisely drill your pilot holes for the five screws, your wheels will not wobble at high speeds.

The drive shaft I purchased to use with this hub was advertised to be 3mm. It was not. It was 1/8Ó. The 3mm hub will just barely fit on a 1/8Ó shaft. It was a tight fit. Thus, you can use this hub with either a 3mm shaft or a 1/8Ó shaft.

This is a very nice complete package. All relevant bolts/grub screws are provided and use the same size allen key.

Quick, easy , secure!!!

My son used these on his undefeated SumoBot vehicle along with LiteFlights. Never an issue with balance or coming loose. Great little hub.

People often use this hub with those foam wheels that this hub fits with. Be warned that the instructions on installing them are very misleading. Pulling the plastic inserts apart is nearly impossible with your hands. You'll need to pry them apart, which is still very difficult (I bent a kitchen knife in one attempt).

Pay attention to the thickness of the wheel. If it's more than an inch thick, the long screws will be too short to go through so don't bother. When you do manage to screw the hub in, you will be disappointed at the fact that you'll never get it on straight and the wheel will wobble horribly.

Easy to use

These hubs were extremely easy to use. I used them with the Crest RS-540 Cermag Motor and fit perfectly.

Very quality hub, I use it with copal motors and lite flite wheels. These hubs create a strong connection and are very easy to use.

I'm using these hubs with the COPAL 60:1 Gearmotor and 1-1/2" Lite Flite foam wheels. They make a great combination. The hubs are light weight and I've never had issues with their strength.
