The Castle PRO BEC is intended for use in larger RC cars, electric aircraft, and helis that have high power demands for their radio/servo systems. It is ideal for most electric helis 500-size and larger. It will also work well in larger electric powered RC aircraft and RC crawlers and Monster Trucks that have high-powered servos.

Seems OK

I purchased this BEC to use in some bench testing. It works as spec'd. However, it is very large (bigger than almost any radio receiver out there) and quite tall, so I wouldn't recommend for a small bot.

Additionally, the build quality looks a bit 'spotty'. The plastic case appears to be weakly joined and is held in place by a flimsy decal/sticker that was peeling off the case when opened out of the box. I'd suggest some shoe goo to beef it up a bit.

On the plus side, it does have two power feeds, noise suppression chokes and as a bonus it has a status indicator LED that lets you know its powered up. Also, it has an adequate looking heat sink to cool it down when you draw big current from it.

I've not tried the USB programming option. It does come with the adapter cable that allows you to hook it to a standard Castle link and program the output voltage from 5-12 volts. Out of the box it puts out 5 volts and that's what I need for my bots, so I'm happy there.
