a definite improvement

I bought two of these to replace the motors in a Tamiya 70097 twin motor drive. You can swap the motors without taking the drive apart.The motors slide out if you just bend the plastic retainer out slightly. I got about a 50% increase in speed and power. I'm using the 211:1 gear ratio. Definitely worth the $10

Yes

This motor is designed for use at 3.0V DC. It will run from 1.2 to 4.8V without damaging it.
